B’n’M Duck Commander Double Touch Jigging Rod, Mr. Crappie Solo Reel, Mr. Crappie Drop Shot Rig
First time working this rod and I must say I like it. Used it working standing timber on Normandy lake. Rigged it with the new Mr. Crappie Solo reel and the Mr. Crappie “Drop Shot” rigs. The pole is 12′ and and medium light. It is set for a bottom reel, cork handles, two cut out where you can feel the blank and yellow stripes at 1 foot intervals the whole length of the rod. These were helpful as far as setting the depth. The weight was very manageable and felt good in the hand. Will be interesting to see how a fish feels on it.
The reel is also great. It looks very much like a fly reel but smaller. It stands off the pole a bit so you can wrap your hand around it better. The drag is smooth and feels solid. The handle is a little loose, but then again this reel is not meant for reeling in fish. It is simply a line holder for jigging. Again, will be interested to see with a fish.
The drop shot rigs were new to me as well. 1/4 oz weight up to loop knot with good hook, up to loop knot with good hook up to swivel.
